Moldova 08.2009

Bukovet and Barboieni - two villages in Moldavia. For three days we led activities for children in each village. Above all we proclaimed the Gospel to them. We had the privilege of serving about 160 children. Many children's parents are abroad, working to support their families but meanwhile losing a valuable bond with them. It even happens that sometimes they never return those who are physically in the home are sometimes absent emotionally.

For these kids a "normal" world often looks a lot different than it does for you or for me. On the outside they may look nicely dressed but inside them is hiding a lot of dirt, sin and pain. Three years ago, Uliana was one of the girls who played with us, badminton, Frisbee etc. Now we see that she's eight months pregnant. It's very unusual that she decided to have the baby because most often they are aborted in such situations.

I am very thankful to my Daddy in heaven for this - HE knows about these kids and their families, and He has the power to change their lives, forgive their sins, heal the wounds of their heart, give joy and dancing instead of tears and sadness! We pray that God's love would flow through us, during games, play time or teaching. When we give out prizes, or when we give a cup of water, we bless each of the kids, entrusting them to God.
